Pathologic (2005)

General

  • Yes?
  • What?
  • Oh, what to speak about now?
  • The pain in my breast is a torture!
  • Do you hear what mad pulse I have?
  • Doesn't it seem to you that I have faded somehow?
  • You see my varnish has peeled off?
  • The Angel of Death has passed by my window.
  • How still it will come around.
  • In my bedroom, it is warmer than here.
  • Sometimes a person is as hardly similar to himself as to others.

Day 1

  • (Bachelor) If the body of Simon is vulnerable for this murderer, so all Town is vulnerable for him.
  • (Bachelor) I felt that you would come.
  • (Haruspex / Changeling) But he does not know our traditions. He will be inevitably deceived.
  • (Haruspex / Changeling) He will find Simon's murderer. For the Kains it is a matter of honor.

Day 2

  • (Bachelor) What was in the inheritance of Haruspicus, I wonder?
  • (Bachelor) They say he has accepted the regalia of his killed father.
  • (Haruspex) Devotress has bewitched the governors. Is that true that they have adopted her?
  • (Haruspex) From where does poor Lara Ravel have so much money? The mind boggles.
  • (Changeling) The prices have grown four times in four hours. Yes, the trouble approaches.
  • (Changeling) I cannot believe that the son could kill the father. Though he is so terrible. He came recently.

Day 3

  • (Bachelor) You in fact will necessarily think up something, won't you?
  • (Bachelor) Nobody will be lost while you are with us, right?
  • (Haruspex / Changeling) They say this is neither cholera nor plague. So this is not terrible?
  • (Haruspex) The children again do not listen to the franap [sic] and make troubles. Perhaps this is all because of them.
  • (Changeling) Children again do not listen to the adults and conceive mischief. Perhaps this is all because of them.

Day 4

  • (Bachelor) Oh, and how did the Ripper get Lara's favor?
  • (Bachelor) Have you heard already? They have started to distribute this trial vaccine. But they say it is not enough!
  • (Haruspex) You have already heard. They have started to distribute a trial vaccine. But people say it is not enough!
  • (Haruspex) The Bachelor has found out what tablets can help cure the illness. Certainly we shall be saved.

Day 5

  • (Bachelor) What a horror. Haruspicus cut the butcher alive. This is true this time, there were eyewitnesses!
  • (Bachelor) What is necessary to take to not get infected?
  • (Haruspex) And what measures is it necessary to take to prevent infection?
  • (Haruspex) The regular train will arrive. It will bring doctors and medicines from the Capital!

Day 6

  • (Bachelor) Never mind. I have already thought up a way out. You will see, everything will be fine.
  • (Bachelor) The Inquisitor will ask from you, right? You should specify her a sauce [sic]] of infection.
  • (Haruspex) They say all is possible for the Inquisitors. Their power is limited by nothing.
  • (Haruspex / Changeling) What's going on in Apiary?
  • (Changeling) Is it true that in Land some Albino was killed?

Day 7

  • (Haruspex) Clara did to the Saburovs what they ordered her to do with those criminals.
  • (Changeling) But why has a Steppe savage impressed this woman so much?
  • (Haruspex / Changeling) At night, I went to the Cathedral, but I was not allowed to enter. Now the Inquisitor sits there.

Day 8

  • (Haruspex) You in fact have made a panachea. So the soldiers will not touch us?
  • (Haruspex) I've never seen the Elder. They say he is a bull, but not a man.

Day 9

  • (Haruspex) Polyhedron trembled when they brought this monster.
  • (Haruspex) Ah, I'm afraid of uncontrollability of small Kain. He will by all means make some trick.

Day 10

None

Day 11

  • (Haruspex) It seems Clara has found a way to make the Town remains as it was.
  • (Haruspex / Changeling) Is it true that the soldiers have burnt that wonderful bull?
  • (Changeling) The Bachelor has fallen in love with the Tower of children.

Day 12

  • My branch was called Golden Hair, but later on I really wanted to give my soul to our Cathedral, to bring at least something immortal to it.
  • If we are the majority, the fragile Polyhedron will not be touched. We can support life in it. Maria will be able to work wonders.

Day 3

  • (Bachelor) You'll think of something, of course, won't you?
  • (Bachelor) There'll be no deaths while you're with us, right?
  • (Haruspex / Changeling) As ever, the children disobey their parents and cause mischief. Perhaps it's all their fault.
  • (Haruspex / Changeling) They say it's neither pox nor cholera. So it's not all that bad, is it?

Day 4

  • (Bachelor) Ah. I wonder how this Ripper managed to get Lara's favor.
  • (Haruspex) Bachelor knows which pills can help. We will all be saved.
  • (Bachelor / Haruspex) Have you heard? They have started to distribute the experimental vaccine. There's too little of it though.

Day 5

  • (Bachelor) How horrible. Haruspex cut a living butcher open. This time for sure he has been seen.
  • (Haruspex) A regular train will come soon! It'll bring us doctors and medicine from the Capital!
  • (Bachelor / Haruspex) What do you need to take to avoid catching it?

Day 6

  • (Bachelor) That's okay. I've found a way. Everything is going to be just fine, you'll see.

  • If we're in the majority, the fragile Polyhedron will be left untouched. We'll manage to sustain life in it. Maria can do miracles.

Pathologic 2

  • I need sleep…
  • Tread softly. Don't stir the earth.
  • Every object has a heartbeat. Can't you hear them?
  • I'm overflowing with soul. I have enough to share.
  • Last night I saw a violet star. I'd never seen one before…
  • Some lenses make things larger. Others make them smaller. And still others split them in two.
  • This isn't a house, it's an observatory. No one else wanted to live here, but I think it's cozy.
  • Sometimes I feel like I could fly.
  • I just knew you'd come.
  • Will it rain? Will it snow? Will it pass? I don't know.
  • No lover's as sweet as the silence of sleep.
  • God keeps the moon from the wolves.
  • Hide and seek, tag, hopscotch… or we might as well play ring around the rosies.
  • Rough as dutch, safe to touch. Smooth as bone, leave it alone.
  • I'm not crying. My eyes are just watering.
  • Yes?
  • What?
  • A forget-me-not's a tiny yellow flower… isn't it?
  • Sometimes I wonder what is beyond wonders.
  • A pinewood house, a knife of brass, a friend in words: these are all glass.
  • My chest aches.
  • My heart is hammering… can you hear it?
  • Don't you think my color's faded?
  • It wasn't me. Don't look at me like that.
  • I can feel the cracks in my lacquer—see?
  • The Angel of Death paces at my door.
  • A hundred years is a bit too long. Too long. Forty? Forty clearly isn't enough…
  • I should get a dog. Yes, a dog.
  • They say it's not pox and not cholera…so it can't be that bad, can it?
  • A regular train will come soon. It'll bring doctors and medicine from the Capital.
  • It's so quiet now…
  • You'll think of something, won't you?
  • We'll have no deaths while you're here, right?
  • It's all right. I've found a way. It'll all come right, you'll see.
  • My path was once called "Goldilocks," but then I wanted to offer my soul to the Cathedral, so that it would hold something truly immortal.
