Pathologic (2005)

General

  • Yeah?
  • What?
  • My tongue is my enemy; a well-thought game comes before.
  • There will be leisure when I am dead.
  • If you miss an hour, a year’s not enough to make it.
  • Have the seams opened again?
  • The wooden neck bends badly.
  • The one who makes a hard bed sleeps better.
  • If there is some carrion, the crows will fly.
  • Once a thief, always a thief.
  • What is to happen, will happen.

Day 1

  • (Bachelor) That girl Devotress did it before you. Greetings from her.
  • (Bachelor) No, the little girl is not so simple. Her look is prickle, she makes evil. A thief sees a thief at once.
  • (Haruspicus) He is nimble, this doctor. He has already managed to shoot down someone. I see a villain from afar.
  • (Haruspicus) Kinda lotta authority was taken by the guest from the capital. Would it be a trouble?
  • (Devotress) The son of Isidor has shown himself. Better not make fun of him. He is like us, the murderer.
  • (Devotress) So, the Ripper has killed all? Well, serves them right, the disobedient ones. Perhapt-it’s-at— Perhaps it’s our calf catching the wolf, hehehe.

Day 2

  • (Bachelor) Authority began to divide. It’s already clear who wins. The Kains will not recover for long, and Vlad is hiding, he knows he is guilty.
  • (Bachelor) Well, Saburov will regret that. Your haste will make people laugh.
  • (Haruspicus) I wish to find out who did this to your father. We wouldn’t spare this monster.
  • (Devotress) You are warming. So, Saburov wins now? The trump has left.

Day 3

  • (Bachelor) They say it’s neither plague nor cholera. So, we shall be alive, we shall not die? Funny. The trade will rise.
  • (Bachelor) If only it were not the same as five years ago. There's no rescue from the Sand Filth.

Day 4

  • (Bachelor) Is it true they have already begun to bury? So, this is a pestilence…
  • (Bachelor) Devotress has handed the Ripper over. Ah! This girl is artful! If you don’t trust anyone, they will be just as found for you too.
  • (Haruspicus) This Bachelor is terrible. He would not heal but cripple! Ah, he will finish with us, and he will not stop.
  • (Devotress) Smart boys they are, Dualsouls. Or so they thought. Braga will play games with them? They have finished badly.

Day 5

  • (Bachelor) Where do they bring the dead? Or again they throw them to the river, to make all Town drink sorrow?
  • (Bachelor) The thief usurer cooks a trouble. They have just pressed Braga down, and here you are.
  • (Haruspicus) The Bachelor’s not redeemed the innocents of the prison. A hypocritical snake!
  • (Devotress) Has Haruspicus split the belief? Andrey will not forgive him that. He is also free to be with his hands. We shall have a look now, who beats whom.

Day 6

  • (Bachelor) Whom will they send on our head? Orff? Arminsky? Petr Kray? All the same, our heads are lost.
  • (Bachelor) The Albino, the Devotress, the Rat. They are one pack. They are evil spirits.
  • (Haruspicus) The instigators have attacked Apary. This was arranged by the Bachelor. Even if it was not him, the thief would never approve that.
  • (Devotress) What have you come for, my dear little thief? Have you lost your people? Obviously this is your bad day.
  • (Devotress) The Bachelor again is catching the cannibal. Now he is skilled. Now he will not be mistaken.

Day 7

  • (Bachelor) What an Inquisitor. Walks everywhere, is not afraid. Ordered to open Apary.
  • (Bachelor) Ripper has outwitted all. From the dirt to the princess!
  • (Haruspicus) The Bachelor with the Inquisitor. Here are two wisdoms united. Well, the business will go now.
  • (Devotress) So, Burakh has managed to create panacea. And I thought he was telling lies!

Day 8

  • (Bachelor) She is a malicious daughter. Has come down hard on us. In this way, she will not leave any will to us. To us, this town is precious as it is.
  • (Bachelor) Haruspicus has got the Elder. Whether he knows it or not, all the same one shall live and another shall die.
  • (Haruspicus) What did the Bachelor get under the ground? This is a wrong business for a lord.

Day 9

  • (Bachelor) Ah! This month the train is especially good. The assortment is exclusive.
  • (Bachelor) The Kains plan something. People speak. They seem to pull out their famous dead. I wish to have a look.
  • (Haruspicus) Look here: The Elder will ask you severely. And you’d better ask him, he will start singing as a nightingale.
  • (Devotress) The Bachelor returns so enthusiastic from the Tower. As if they taught him to fly!

Day 10

  • (Bachelor) They say Bos Turokh has appeared on the Waste ground. So, that killed man was not the last one— I wish he were!
  • (Bachelor) Rubin appears to be alive. I thought he had died.
  • (Devotress) The children will not leave the Tower. It will be a pity if it falls, the kids are there.

Day 11

  • (Bachelor) Well, what a disorder. A brother against brother, a soldier against soldier. The guns will start to fire at any moment.
  • (Bachelor) Klara says that if the people do not pity themselves dying, the Town will not be touched! Somehow, she will arrange it.
  • (Devotress) So, Burakh has passed the ordeal. Well, the way is smooth for a big man.

Day 12

  • Someone without a dream is like one without a soul. Well, we are small people, the branches are not about is. Do as you want.
  • If such people like me gather with an interest, the Town remains the former. We shall devote ourselves to Klara, we, the criminals. It is not a pity to have given a rotten life to a new Mistress.

Pathologic Classic

General

  • Yeah?
  • What?
  • A fool's tongue is long enough to cut his own throat.
  • Yeah, I sleep when I'm dead.
  • He who loans a minute owes a year in interest.
  • Feels like my stitches are popping.
  • A wooden neck is tough to bend.
  • Many a one says ill that sleeps well.
  • Where there's carrion, there are crows.
  • A part off-center the well is broken at last.
  • What is to be, will be.

Day 1

  • (Bachelor) That Changeling lass was faster than you. Sent her regards.
  • (Bachelor) Nah, that ain't no simple lass. Got a keen eye for playing tricks. Takes one to know one.
  • (Haruspex) That doctor's quick on the draw, eh? He fought someone already. I can spot a jail bird a mile away.
  • (Haruspex) The city boy grabbed too much power for his own good. This ain’t gonna end well.
  • (Changeling) Whoa! Isidor's son has proven himself. Not a man to be trifled with. A villain; a kindred spirit.
  • (Changeling) So, Ripper's done away with everyone. Serves them rebels right. Let the man dream big.

Day 2

  • (Bachelor) They're carvin' up the Town. It's clear who's gonna bag the prize. The Kains aren't getting back on their feet any time soon, and Vlad keeps mum. Got a finger in the pie, that's for sure.
  • (Bachelor) Saburov will regret this. Haste makes waste.
  • (Haruspex) If only we knew who did away with your Pa. We'd spare that mongrel nothin’.
  • (Changeling) Nice and cozy, eh? Saburovs have you under their wing now. Got yourself a trump card.

Day 3

  • (Bachelor) They say 'tis neither pox nor cholera. Too soon to measure for a coffin then. Hahaha. The business will flourish.
  • (Bachelor) I hope it's anything but what happened five years ago. There's no cure from the Sand Pest.

Day 4

  • (Bachelor) People get buried already. For real. So, it's the Plague.
  • (Bachelor) Changeling has grassed on Ripper, eh? That's a sly fox if I ever saw one. Trust the first comer not. She'll have her way with you, too.
  • (Haruspex) A spooky fellow, that Bachelor. Remedy worse than the disease itself. He'd swallow us whole!
  • (Changeling) Them Souls-and-a-Half are a bold lot. But did they think Barley's gonna play tag with them? Game over, fellas.

Day 5

  • (Bachelor) Where are they takin' the stiffs? Throwin' into the river once again, to drown the Town?
  • (Bachelor) Var the Usurer is starting a war unusual. Just nailed Barley down, and here we go, all around.
  • (Haruspex) So. Bachelor never got the innocents out of the jail, did he? That double-dealing serpent!
  • (Changeling) Haruspex has cut Willow open. Andrey will never let him get away with this. Another one with loose fists, that guy. We'll see who wins the tug of fist.

Day 6

  • (Bachelor) Who will they send upon us? Orff? Karminsky? Peter Kroy? Oh, how our heads will roll.
  • (Bachelor) Albino, Changeling and the Rat belong to the same pack. Fiends, all of them.
  • (Haruspex) The arsonists have attacked the Termitary. All Bachelor's doing, ‘course. Would not for him, Var never would have given the go-ahead on this.
  • (Changeling) What do you want, thief darling? Looking for your kind? It’s your lucky day, then.
  • (Changeling) Bachelor’s trying to catch the maneater once again. He’s getting good at it. Won’t screw up this time.

Day 7

  • (Bachelor) That Inquisitor, though. Walking around everywhere just like this. Ordered to unlock the Termitary, too.
  • (Bachelor) Ripper is the smartest of them all. From zero to hero.
  • (Haruspex) Bachelor and the Inquisitor. Two wiseacres sharin’ a perch. That’ll get the ball rollin’ for sure.
  • (Changeling) So, Burakh has made his panacea after all. That guy! I thought he was all talk.

Day 8

  • (Bachelor) The trollop has us all over a barrel. Ain't gonna go our way now, and we own the Town.
  • (Bachelor) So, Haruspex got to the Foreman. Whether he realizes it or not, one of them lives, the other dies.
  • (Haruspex) What is he trying to find down below? It's so beneath him.

Day 9

  • (Bachelor) This month's train was fat and fancy. First class stock.
  • (Bachelor) The Kains seem to be up to something, flaunting their dearly departed like this. I'd like to have a look.
  • (Haruspex) Take heed: The Foreman will grill you. Grill him instead. He'll sing like a canary.
  • (Changeling) Bachelor came back from the Tower all blissed up. As if they taught him how to fly there, no less.

Day 10

  • (Bachelor) Rumor has it Bos Turokh has appeared in the Lot. So, the latest wasn't the last. That be lovely.
  • (Bachelor) So, Rubin is alive. I thought him dead.
  • (Changeling) Kids won't leave the Tower. Shame if it'll have to go down. ‘Cause, you know. Kids.

Day 11

  • (Bachelor) Well, ain't that a mess. Kin on Kin, soldier on soldier. A full on fratricide. And the cannons will chime on any moment.
  • (Bachelor) Clara says that the Town will be left untouched if some of us petty folks find the courage to die. She can arrange that somehow.
  • (Changeling) So, Burakh has withstood the trial, eh? Godspeed to the man, walkin’ tall.

Day 12

  • A dreamless man is a soulless man. We are a humble lot, we stick to no paths. Do as you will.
  • If there's enough people like me, the Town will stay the same. We'll surrender ourselves to Clara unrepentant. A rotten life belongs to the new Mistress.

Pathologic 2

  • Some are wise. Others, otherwise.
  • Neither above nor below the ground can Heaven or Hell be found!
  • What?
  • Yeah?
  • Wisdom's good to possess - better still's his cleverness.
  • That doctor's quick on the draw. Already shot someone! So much for his "oath".
  • The city boy's bit off more than he can chew. Won't end well.
  • If only we knew who did away with your father... we'd spare the beast nothing.
  • For what the devil can't do, send a woman.
  • I've heard of this "love" thing, alright. Never seen it, though.
  • Ugh. The Kains shouldn't mess around with my railroad's ties. Such labour is beneath them.
  • And Vlad stays quiet... has his finger in the pie, I'm sure.
  • A well honed tongue breaks bone.
  • Where are they tossing the stiffs? Into the river once more? All those bodies would drown the town!
  • Var the usurer wages war on all poorer. Just nailed Barley down - here we go, all around!
  • Talk's cheap. Sow what you reap.
  • The Ripper's outsmarted everyone! From down and out, to talk of the town!
  • The wench has us all over a barrel. Nothing to be done about it now.
  • This month's train was loaded! Top shelf product!
  • Hmm... need to light a fire under this town.
  • There once was a man of great humour, who found he was dead of a tumour. But he woke up today, to his neighbour's dismay, and that of his cow once he took her! Heheh!
  • Nice and cozy, aren't you? The Saburovs have you under their wing, now. Got yourself a trump card.
  • Kids won't leave the Tower. Would be a shame if it collapsed. Because. You know. Kids.
  • A fool's tongue is long enough to hang them.
  • Time enough to rest after death.
  • Lose an hour, and you won't catch up in a year.
  • Feels like my stitches are popping...
  • Many who sleep well, speak ill.
  • Where there's carrion, there's crows.
  • A jug sent to the well often is soon smashed.
  • What must be, will be.
  • My path was not called 'The Spider'. No, think wider. It was 'The Silkworm'! The end of a railroad, I pulled strings firm; unaware someone more cunning pulled mine upstairs.
