Overseer Tycheek was the former leader of the Kin in the Termitary. Alongside Oyun and Isidor Burakh, he spoke with Big Vlad on behalf of the Kin.

Description

What're you doing rooting around in here, anyway? Are you looking to replace Dad?
Taya Tycheek

Not much is known about Tycheek's physical appearance. He lived in the Termitary alongside his Kinsmen, and was in charge of leading those living there and working for the Bull Enterprise. It is presumed his position was given by Big Vlad, much like the title of Foreman, but many of those both inside and outside the Termitary spoke highly of Tycheek.

Plot

Pathologic

Tycheek was the "Father Superior" of the Kin, head of the workers in the Termitary; the hereditary position of "Superior" was passed down to Tycheek from his mother. Tycheek's duties included opening and closing the Abattoir's Gates of Labor. He was known to be respected by Isidor Burakh.

Shortly before the events of Pathologic, Tycheek perished. The role of "Superior" passed to his daughter Taya Tycheek.

Pathologic 2

This entry contains potential spoilers for Pathologic 2. Read at your own risk.

Overseer Tycheek was the head of the Termitary and one of the Elders of the Kin. He had no love for Isidor Burakh and seemed to oppose his decisions for the Kin.

On the night before Isidor Burakh's death a Kinsman saw him and Simon Kain digging in the Steppe. Piercing the Earth is a taboo and as such the act was done in secret. On seeing the broken Law the Kinsman ran to Overseer Tycheck to tell them of what Isidor and Simon was doing. It is said that upon hearing the news Tycheek flew into a rage. Tycheek quickly left for the Steppe, following after Isidor and Simon. It is unknown what exactly occurred between them in the Steppe that night. Afterwards Tycheek returned to the Termitary and was locked inside with the Kin on Vlad the Younger's orders.

Overseek Tycheek soon dies of the Sand Plague alongside several of the Termitary's residents. With his death he leaves his leadership role to his daughter, Taya Tycheek.

As the creation of the hole in the Steppe was to release the Sand Plague into The Town, it's possible that it was Overseer Tycheek who unwittingly introduced the Sand Pest into the Termitary upon his return.

Notes

  • In the original translation of Pathologic, his surname was written as Tychik.
  • The title of "Father Superior" does not appear in Pathologic 2. Conversely, Tycheek was not referred to as "Overseer" in Pathologic.
